The Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park is a group of volunteers operating in fiscal partnership with the YWCA of Kaua‘i, a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit.
We have weekly beach cleanups, 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM every Saturday, meeting near Lydgate Park's lifeguard tower.

The Friends of Kamalani & Lydgate Park coordinates beach cleanups on the East Side of Kauai.
These every Saturday morning beach cleanups at Lydgate Beach Park are pretty informal. Recently our attendance has been ~35 volunteers.
Bring sun protection & a water flask. We provide gloves & hand tools.
We’ve been keeping the beach very clean, but following extreme weather events we tend to get large amounts of driftwood washed into the enclosed swimming area where we focus our beach cleanup efforts.
Wearing shoes to our cleanups is recommended. You might want to e-mail or text us a few days prior to your coming if you want a sense of the expected conditions you will encounter.
Please find the lifeguard tower (ocean-side of the big Main Pavilion) in Lydgate Beach Park, and then check in with any one of the volunteers nearby wearing a yellow beach cleanup team tee shirt. (The more faded the tee shirt, the more experienced & familiar with our routines the volunteer is likely to be.)
We start at 8:30 AM and try to wrap up by around 10:30 AM.
At ~10:30 we share snacks.
