The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (CIMAR) at the University of Hawaiʻi, in partnership with the NOAA Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC), is recruiting for following position.
Protected Species Division Applications Developer (E25)
● The Role: Lead front-end application development and UI/UX for scientific data tools. You will design, build, and deploy Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) with client-side caching and automated data synchronization workflows. Your apps will empower field biologists and research ships to capture data seamlessly—even in the most remote corners of the Pacific where internet access is spotty .
● Key Tech: Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), Google AppSheet, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Python, Oracle APEX, Git/GitHub, SQL.
● Suggested Experience: 3–5 years of professional programming and relational database application development experience.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
● Salary: $5,500-7,000/mo., commensurate with experience

● Schedule: Full-time, exempt.
