Organization Details
The Hawaiian Hawksbill Conservation's statewide photo-ID catalog (1998-present) is dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of the critically endangered Hawaiian hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) to aid in its local and global conservation.
If you've been lucky enough to spot a critically endangered Hawaiian hawksbill sea turtle, known as "honu'ea", we'd love to hear details! Your photographs/videos will be compared to the catalog, and if it's a new individual, you get to choose a name for it! With your permission, we'll add your name (and possibly your photographs) to the hawksbill's tab on the website. Every sighting is important, so we really appreciate your help!
