This volunteer opportunity is for Oʻahu residents.
Since 2017, the Hawai‘i Wildlife Center's Oʻahu Seabird Aid (OSA) program has provided help to downed seabirds during the peak of fallout season. Seabird fallout season is our busiest time of the year, with hundreds of downed birds being brought to our team for physical examination and care. Our O‘ahu-based staff works with drop-off locations and our veterinary partners to get birds examined, stabilized, and on to release. Peak seabird fallout (the busiest part of the season) is November 15 through December 8.
Volunteers will be under the supervision of Hawaiʻi Wildlife Center staff and working out of Feather and Fur Animal Hospital in Kailua.
