The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) seeks to support a diverse* and qualified pool of students for career development opportunities in NOAA-related fields. The Hollings Preparation Program (HPP) prepares undergraduates to be competitive applicants for the NOAA Hollings Scholarship.
HPP scholars will be paired with NOAA mentors primarily within the geography of the NOAA Western Region, including potential offices in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, as well as Alaska and Hawaii, for six weeks during the summer of 2025.
Who qualifies?
Freshman undergraduates** interested in pursuing NOAA-related science, research, policy, management, communication, and education who:
✔ Had a 3.0 or higher GPA in their last year of high school
✔ Are U.S. citizens or U.S. Nationals, maintain health insurance***, and are able to obtain a low-level government security clearance upon acceptance into the program
✔ Are available for a six-week, full-time internship starting July 7 and ending August 15th, 2025
